Tailgate 2019

New Location Puts Alumni Association Tailgate in the Heart of Roadrunner Nation

The UTSA Alumni Association will kick off the 2019 football season in a new tailgating area. Alumni and friends can find the association this season in the heart of it all, Alamodome Lot C, along Cherry Street between Wyoming and Dashiell streets.

Food, beer, games and camaraderie, along with visits by UTSA Cheer, Rowdy and the Spirit of San Antonio marching band, will start three hours before each home game.

The first tailgate of the season will be celebrated before the UTSA Football game against the University of the Incarnate Word on Saturday, Aug 31. The tailgate will begin at 2 p.m.

Steve Woodall, Interim Executive Director of the UTSA Alumni Association, is excited to introduce alumni to their new tailgating home. “Our members and alumni wanted us to be central to the game day experience, and being in Lot C makes that possible,” Woodall said. “We will have sausage, beer and the usual UTSA spirit activities. The venue may have changed, but we’re still going to get Rowdy!”

Home tailgate admission is free to all UTSA Alumni Association members. Non-member adult admission is $20 and children 16 and under are free. Anyone who wants to get Rowdy is welcome!

In addition to supporting the Roadrunners at home, the UTSA Alumni Association will also host tailgates in advance of away games at Baylor, University of North Texas and Texas A&M. Information on those tailgates will be emailed soon to all alumni and posted on UTSA Alumni Association social media, @UTSAAlumni on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Career Services for Alumni

UTSA Career Services and the UTSA Alumni Association are partnering to offer Career Talk Tuesdays. Every second Tuesday of the month, a career counselor will hold office hours in the Alumni Engagement Office in the Bauerle Road Garage. It is convenient to park and walk in to talk with someone to get advice about job hunting, resume writing, career transitions and more.

The next opportunities are July 9 and August 13, 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Please email alumni@utsa.edu to RSVP for a 30 minute session, or walk-in for first come, first served meetings.
