Sanah Jivani, UTSA Panfeld Family Award Scholarship Recipient

Scholarship Recipient Thankful for Alumni Donors

During this time of thanksgiving, the generosity of UTSA donors takes on special meaning, especially for scholarship recipients like myself. None of what I do—including being a full-time student while also running my own non-profit and serving on numerous boards to promote self-acceptance—would be possible without the financial support provided by people like you. I am grateful for those who choose to support me along my journey.

As a first-generation college student, I was always scared I would not be able to finish school.  Knowing that I am supported and worth your investment gives me the confidence to continue to pursue my dreams. I am using scholarship support to further my studies, so one day, I can change the world for the better.

Sanah was recently named a 2018 Harry S. Truman Scholar, the second student in UTSA history to earn the prestigious honor.  Support from alumni donors along with Sanah’s hard work made this historic achievement possible.

UTSA 50th - Be Seen

As the university 50th anniversary approaches, we have a great opportunity for you to get involved just by sharing your early photos or artifacts of UTSA. We are looking for photos for everything from building construction, students on campus (or at Cooter Browns!), or the Koger Center.  Send your photos to and you just may see them included in our 50th celebration materials throughout 2019.

SAVE THE DATE!  It’s time to get those running shoes broken in before our 35th UTSA Alumni Association Diploma Dash 5K on February  23, 2019. Registration will be open soon.

We are excited to have alumna April Ancira ’03 as the emcee for the event again this year. April is an avid runner and triathlon athlete in the San Antonio community as well as a dedicated UTSA supporter.

Diploma Dash is a family-friendly, stroller-friendly and dog-friendly event. Registration price for Association members is just $25!

Proceeds benefit our UTSA Alumni Association scholarship funds to help future Roadrunners. Any questions, please email us at
